Work no more than 35 hours a week.

Studies show that to be the most productive and creative, we should work 35 hours a week. Working longer hours can make us more productive, but only in the short run. Additionally, learn how to work smarter, not harder.

Take a few deep breaths.

Take a few deep breaths into your belly. Breathe in to the count of 6, hold for 2 seconds, and breathe out to the count of 7 – repeat as many times as you like. This kind of deep breathing activates our body’s parasympathetic nervous system (aka our relaxation response), relaxes our body, and slows our mind down. Once you’ve taken a few deep breaths, you should feel a lot calmer, and be able to concentrate much more easily.

Create your own morning routine.

Cut the amount of time it takes to dress, eat breakfast, pack lunch and whatever else needs doing in the morning through careful planning the night before. Prepping everything in advance will allow you to breeze through your morning without stopping to make decisions. It’s easy to get sidetracked, so set a timer for your morning routine.

Watch a funny movie.

Laughing will almost always boost your mood. Turn on that one movie that will make you cry you laugh so hard. This will do the trick.

Drink lemon water.

Right when you wake up in the morning drink a glass of lemon infused water. This will wake up your body, help with hydration and boost your metabolism, giving you a jumpstart on your day.

Hydrate yourself.

Whenever you feel hungry drink 1 glass of cold water straight away, add pinch of Himalayan salt to support hydration. Many times, we confuse thirst with hunger. When we are even slightly dehydrated there are many processes slowed down in our body, including energy distribution, so many people feel like they need some “quick energy fix”. Try it!

Become an explorer and view the world as your “jungle”. Stop and observe all of the little things as completely unique events. Try new things. Get out of your comfort zone and try to experience as many different environments and sensations as possible. This world has so much to offer, so why not take advantage of it?
